Through a customer referral, 3C approached Anderson Software to develop an Intranet application to help them manage their facilities, schedule laboratories and engineers, and consolidate customer booking information. They needed a graphical representation of their activities on an annual, monthly, weekly, and daily basis. In addition a booking form was needed to capture client requirements, allocation of equipment, engineer and lab resources, together with reporting and billing details. Management reports were also required assist the administration and billing process.

The Solution We chose to implement a solution to this requirement using an Intranet application based on the Microsoft .Net framework. Being browser based there are no additional costs or complications involved in accessing the application from workstations in the administration offices or by engineers working from the laboratories. As long as a workstation can access the company Intranet it could run the application. In addition, the program evolved through several enhancements since its initial version. Changing the program or its underlying database was a very simple operation on one computer, and all engineers immediately could enjoy the benefits of the new version. |
