Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is more than just a suite of Office Productivity tools. Inside each program (Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) is a powerful programming language (VBA) that can be used to integrate the applications. In addition links can be formed to SQL Server database so that raw or analysed data can be formatted and presented to user. Results can be saved directly to shared folders, and exchanged with colleagues over the company Intranet.
We have helped many PLCs achieve productivity gains using Microsoft Office, including: Bureau Veritas Quality International, Diagio Plc, ASDA, Total Fina, Currys, Freeserve, and WillmottDixon.
Here are some examples of what we have achieved with Microsoft Office:
  • Report generation, with integrated with Excel charts linked to SQL databases.
  • Automatic processing of emails received from job boards, processing data and posting directly into a database.
  • Monthly management reports, including early warnings of project overruns.
Office InfoPath
With the introduction of Infopath as part of the Office 2003 suite of productivity tools, Anderson Software is able to offer a design service for XML-based forms which can then be transferred to back-end systems such as SQL server.
